Easter

Here is a picture of our cute kids in their Easter clothes. They were getting a litlle restless as we were rushing to get out the door for church. It seems to be that we have a harder time getting off to church at 1 pm than we do at 9 am. After church we went to Grandmas for dinner with Mom and John. We had a nice evening with family. We hope that everyone had an enjoyable Easter.

Skiing at Tamarack

On Saturday we went skiing at Tamarack. It was great to get away for the day. My mom came and watched the kids. We got up to the hill around ten. We went and got Tami fitted for her skis then we headed for the Magic Carpet (that is a fancy way to say the kids hill). Tami went down a couple times and picked up what she had learned as a kid. We then went to the Discovery chair, that is the bunny hill. It wasn't much of a hill it was more like the bunny ski run. We went down there a couple times and Tami was getting pretty good. She is a quick learner. Around noon we went to the car to eat our sandwiches and take a break. Tami need to give her knee a rest so I went out by myself for a couple runs. Of course, I went straight to the top. I borrowed some skis from my friend and I needed to test them out. It was a blast. I went straight down as fast as I could. Those skis would turn and carve really easy. I went and woke Tami up and we went out again. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed spending time with each other. At the end of the day Tami took her skis in and I went for one last run. As I got done and skied toward the car I saw someone trying to jump start our car. Tami listened to the radio a little to long. Luckily security was able to get our car going. Despite Tami's childhood horror stories and skiing mishaps I think she actually enjoyed herself.

Celebration Park

This month for the Scout camp out we went to Celebration Park near Melba. Seven boys were able to attend. We had two new boys Dallon and Bradley. Friday night and Saturday morning we reviewed some First and Second Class requirements. Late Friday night we played Guerrilla Warfare. We got up at 6:00 the next morning. I slept really well because we put the boys down the hill and by the river. They got up and made breakfast and packed up camp. After we had camp packed up and we finished reviewing the rank stuff we hiked to Lake Halverson. A couple of the boys tried to fish but they didn't have any luck. It was a good trip.Blake and Bradley

Whew!

I got through my first Sunday conducting and doing Sharing Time in Primary. It is amazing how intimidating those little kids can be. I was so worried about messing up something... I did. But the world didn't end so I guess it is ok. Thank goodness that kids are forgiving. I almost gave out all of March's birthday cards instead of just this weeks. Then we were recognizing a boy who achieved his Faith in God award and I left his book with the signatures of the Bishop and the previous Primary President in them at my house. Then I planned to share the same story out of the Friend as my presidency message as the 1st Counselor planned for Junior Sharing Time, so I totally winged another story. It was a kind of crazy Opening exercises, but things got better once Sharing Time started. Oh and thank goodness for singing time, I sure needed the break after I was done with my sharing time. To quote one of the eleven year old kids "Keeping the commandments is cool!" So I guess I got my point across.

What a Day!

Mean Mom

Ok, so I think that this is pretty normal. Your 2 yr. old has "one of those days" and so you slowly lose your patience (or quickly in my case today). It is pretty easy to lose your patience when your 2 yr. old drops your 2 month old on the floor and then hits him because she is mad at you, right? So after a long time out for both of our sakes we are still butting heads. I made an Executive decision (you get to do that when you are MOM!) that Bailee would have to be buckled in to her booster chair for lunch. At some point over the last six to eight months she decided that it is no longer cool to be buckled in. So of course that didn't go over well. I told her that she had to stay in her seat until she ate ALL of her lunch. Then when she was almost done she called to me to come let her out, I was feeding Owen so I told her she would have to wait. Again, that did not go over well. Shortly after I hear her voice getting closer and I looked up to see this.
The mean mom in me couldn't resist the photo opp. She came out of the kitchen still buckled into her chair. Now I must say... That takes some determination.
She changed her mood just a little because in this day and age you can't take a picture of a child with out them wanting to see how it looks.
Just look at that face! Can you see how hurt and angry she was at mom. " How dare a mom use the buckle and then not let me out when I was ready, I'll show her!" (my interpretation of the look, of course)

Court of Honor

On Sunday we had a Boy Scout Court of Honor. It was good time. Well at least I thought so but I was the one doing most of the talking. The New Scout Patrol did all of the conducting and the flag ceremony. They did a great job. We had four boys advance to the rank of Life Scout. I am really proud of Caleb (Life Scout) and the new Life Scouts for setting the example for the younger scouts. It is exciting for me to see the Scout Spirit grow in our ward. We now have 19 scouts actively participating and 17 at the Court of Honor. We also had several other young men advance to Second Class and First Class Ranks. Second to my love for my Savior and my family is the love I have for serving and playing with these young men. It is exciting for me when they step up and be leaders and it is hard for me to watch them make mistakes and fall. I do know it is all for their good. I have learned a lot and grown myself by serving these young men.

Hat like Daddy

When I was getting ready to go outside Saturday Bailee didn't want to go outside without a hat like Daddy's. She likes to do everthing just like dad does. When ever we are going to the store she beats me to the punch line by saying "See you later Babe" to Tami.

The Naughty Mat

So this is our time out spot, the naughty mat. The other day we had to put Bailee on the naughty mat for some reason I don't remember now. Lately when she is in trouble she tells us she is sleepy. This day she decided to lay down and cover herself with the other half of the mat. She is so funny. Where do kids come up with this stuff?

I am the lamest friend ever!

Ok, so at what point in life do you become the lamest friend ever? I think that it happened when I got married at 18 and most of my friends stayed single. One of my best friends and my maid of honor, Amy, came to town from Tennessee this week and when she called to see if we could get together the only time I had available was when I was going grocery shopping and then to my house for lunch and nap time. HOW LAME IS THAT!?
Lucky for me, Amy is one of the awesomest friends and was totally happy going grocery shopping with me and the kiddos. It was so great to see her again! And she is moving back in two months! Yeah! I can't wait!

Blessing Day

What a special day we had on Sunday. Owen was blessed in sacrament meeting by Matt. Matt's Dad, our brother-in-law Kelly, Matt's Uncle Darrin, and Our Bishop all stood in on this special event. The spirit was felt as Owen was blessed. I feel so fortunate to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints, it is such a blessing to have the priesthood in our lives.

Owen's Baby Shower

My awesome friend Krista gave me a baby shower. We had so much fun. But that is not hard to do when you have such great friends and family, and a bunch of women at that! Krista made some yummy food and we had wonderful conversation to go with it. My friend, Anna, did "the ring test" on several of the guests to see what the future holds for them as far as children go. It was so much fun just being silly girls. Of course Owen was OO'd and Aw'd at and passed around too.
