Primary Water Activity
We had out first Activity as a Primary presidency. It was a lot of fun, I hope that the kids had as much fun as I did. It was perfect 101 degrees outside for a water activity. About 40 or so kids came. We played water kickball and had a few water relays. Then at the end we had a free for all water balloon fight for each of the age groups. I think that my old class of boys had fun hitting me with water balloons. They started to gang up on me instead of going against each other.
I must say that I am glad that it is over and done with. The night before out activity we found out that there is no hose spigot out by the field and pavilion. So the four of us hauled bucket of water back and forth from the church across the parking lot to the field to fill up the pools and have water for our relays. Luckily my very smart president thought to bring her kids wagon so we had that to help us out. We were quite the sight pulling wagons back and forth to the utility closet.

Family Night at Carinos

Whew!
I got through my first Sunday conducting and doing Sharing Time in Primary. It is amazing how intimidating those little kids can be. I was so worried about messing up something... I did. But the world didn't end so I guess it is ok. Thank goodness that kids are forgiving. I almost gave out all of March's birthday cards instead of just this weeks. Then we were recognizing a boy who achieved his Faith in God award and I left his book with the signatures of the Bishop and the previous Primary President in them at my house. Then I planned to share the same story out of the Friend as my presidency message as the 1st Counselor planned for Junior Sharing Time, so I totally winged another story. It was a kind of crazy Opening exercises, but things got better once Sharing Time started. Oh and thank goodness for singing time, I sure needed the break after I was done with my sharing time. To quote one of the eleven year old kids "Keeping the commandments is cool!" So I guess I got my point across.
What a Day!

A New Calling
The Bishop called yesterday morning (which I thought was SO weird) to see if he could come by (even weirder) to talk to Matt and I. Of course Matt was at work so the Bishop couldn't come until later in the afternoon. So that gave me a few hours to speculate and worry about why on earth the Bishop would be coming to our house to talk to us on a Saturday. I figured that Matt's calling was safe because they don't change the Scout Masters that often and he has only been in there for about a year and a half. So that left me trying to figure out all of the open callings that I knew of. Lets just say that I wasn't even close to figuring this one out.
I have been called to be the 2nd counselor in the Primary!
So at first I felt a little relieved that it wasn't what I had thought it might be. Then I got nervous, I just feel WAY TO YOUNG for this calling! And now I am getting excited, after being in Primary for 4 1/2 years I will now get to give my input and maybe help make things happen. It is going to be busy, sounds like I am going to be over Cubs, so it will be scouting all over the place at out house. It will be nice, Matt and I will be able to go to Round Table meetings together.
I am really excited to work with these other women, I really admire them and look forward to getting to know them better. We will have a lot of fun.
