Can we build it?

Yes we can!! Yesterday we got one more good snowman-snow day. There wasn't much there, but just enough for two little ones to make something special.

They were so proud that they did it all by them selves. I was proud of them too.

Snowman

We got quite a bit of snow the end of December and first part of January and every day Bailee asked if we could build a snowman. Unfortunately the snow was powder and not good for snowman building. Finally one day we had a bit of rain, just enough to make the snow wet and compact-able. After dinner Matt took Bailee out to build their snow man. He was taller than Matt and Bailee loved it.

The snow ball for his mid section was too heavy to lift so Matt made a ramp.

Snow Drifts

The week before Christmas we got quite a bit of snow and a surprise...DRIFTS! They definitely were not big, but were the biggest we have seen in a long time. This is a picture of the drift we had in our back yard. It was between 12 and 18 inches tall. Bailee loved going out and playing in all of the show we had and marveled at how her tracks would be covered up the next day. She loved making snow angels and what she called bird nests (a hole in the drift) in the snow.

Snow in Boise!!!

It is amazing how much snow we have gotten this winter. However, we do live in the Treasure Valley so it doesn't stick around long. Just long enough that if you get out before 10 am you have to shovel and there might be enough to play in before it melts off in the afternoon. Bailee has had so much fun this year being pulled around in her sled and new wagon.
Bailee is definitely her Dad's daughter and loves the snow enough to put up with the cold. As for me, I enjoy watching them play from inside our warm house.
